February Update: Valentines and Lent!

Happy Valentine's Day!πŸ’– I really enjoy this day because it is a celebration of love, all love, (not just romantic love) and since God is Love Sharing our love with each other is an outward sign of of God's love for us!

πŸ₯žIt is kind of crazy to think that we are in the 13th day of February and there is no Pancake Breakfast! I am missing the fun and the feeling of gathering the community together and I know that many of you are as well! The crew is always so proud of how the kids step up to the responsibility of the moment and I am always so grateful for such a wonderful group of kids and adults to experience the event with. Seeing the support of this endeavor grow as much as it has over the years has been nothing short of amazing, it all really makes a difference for our young adults as they head to college. We are looking forward to when we can give the Pancake Breakfast a safe reboot!

πŸ•ˆLent is just around the corner and the packets for the grades 1-10 are available for pickup at the Masses on Sunday 2/14/21. Since the packets are a little awkward this time around  it would be a great help if  we could arrange a time for pickup if you won't be attending Mass tomorrow or on Ash Wednesday.  It is important that we keep some continuity with teaching what it means to be Catholic during Lent. I feel that it is a little more important this year since we lost so much of Lent last year too! With vaccines on the rise and infections decreasing, I am hopeful that Easter will bring our whole community to a time of resurrection and celebration.

The packets include the Gospel Weeklies through 3/21/21, a DIY Lenten Challenge, The Annual Rice Bowl and the Lenten Calendar to follow the season along. Please don't feel overwhelmed by any of it, it is all there for your child's use whenever your family chooses. There are also family packets if you are interested in receiving one which include a Drawing God packet and a Lenten Family Activity Book.

I will be adding other resources on this blog for families (both for kids and adults) as the weeks progress. I hope you find them of use!
